Jim Carrey has praised Nirvana’s song ‘Breed’

Jim Carrey has praised Nirvana’s song “Breed” as “one of the most kick-ass tracks ever in history” during interviews, particularly while promoting Sonic 2. He described it as an “unsung piece” that’s overshadowed by Nirvana’s other hits from their 1991 album Nevermind, like “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and “Come As You Are.”

Carrey specifically said: “‘Breed’ is one of the greatest, unsung, really… It’s kind of an unsung piece; it’s overshadowed by other hits they had. But ‘Breed’ is one of the most kick-ass tracks ever in history. It’s wonderful.”

He mentioned that when he needs to “get chaotic or crazy,” he turns to music like Pantera or “Breed” by Nirvana, calling it one of his anthems. The song, written by Kurt Cobain, was originally titled “Imodium” and critiques what Cobain saw as the monotony of normative existence in Middle America.

Interestingly, Carrey also shared that the first time he heard Pantera’s music, he was driving to San Diego and was so stimulated by it that he started laughing uncontrollably, only to encounter the band members later at his hotel check-in.
