Also known as The Vanishing Lady, The Conjuring of a Woman at the House of Robert Houdin is a short film by Georges Méliès. Given its short length, it’s a little thin on plot. It’s also ostensibly a horror movie, which confirms that some of the earliest films ever had horror themes. Imagine how much some people’s socks were knocked off by these early special effects!
